I get lots of request from my Radio/TV friends for Industry specific promotional ideas … and the Industry that I get most requests for is HVAC. Let’s take a look at a money-maker that I put together for my local New Jersey radio station.
Here’s an idea to help you scoop up all the HVAC money in your market with a market-wide dealer group … It’s fun, easy to do and very, very lucrative. I organized a dealer group with York Air Conditioning, Edie’s Ice Cream and ten local York HVAC Contractors. The idea was to have my listeners call their local York Dealer for a “Spring Checkup” and they’ll bring along a gallon of ice cream for the kids. “Keep Cool with York and Edie’s Ice Cream” generated over $15,000 in new business and the promotion ran for many years.
There are several HVAC manufacturers you can present this program to including York, Carrier, Ruud, Trane, and Lennox. The key is building relationships with the Regional Sales Managers of the national manufacturers. They will turn you onto their accounts (contractors) if you have a good idea that will help them increase sales.
