Throw Back Thursday Bonus Jingle – March 29th 2018 – Reginald R. Yancey

Welcome to AmericanMusicConcepts.com: Throw Back Thursday’s Bonus Jingle – 03/29/2018

Each Thursday we will take a trip down memory lane and delve into our fantastic catalog of jingles to share with you some of the great experiences we’ve had hand crafting these jingles through the years.

The Jingle: Reginald R. Yancey

The Story: My first business trip selling jingles was 22 years ago to Lynchburg, Virginia.

My radio friends in Lynchburg brought me out to meet bankruptcy attorney, Reginald R. Yancey. Reginald owns a very successful law firm and is a Baptist Minister, too.

When we entered Reginald’s office he asked me about my children before we even sat down. Reginald then preached to me for well over an hour. His presence was dynamic while offering deep thoughts about parenting in the crazy world we live in.

I sat on the edge of my chair trying not to miss a single point. Reginald is a remarkable speaker and intelligent beyond words.

As he wrapped up our visit, Reginald asked why I was there. I told him that I own a jingle company and he said, “Great idea. Sign me up.”

Reginald R. Yancey has signed up for 22 annual radio advertising contracts and is still using his jingle.

Check it out!

Throw Back Thursday Bonus Jingle – March 22nd 2018 – Surf Ballroom

Welcome to AmericanMusicConcepts.com: Throw Back Thursday’s Bonus Jingle – 03/22/2018

Each Thursday we will take a trip down memory lane and delve into our fantastic catalog of jingles to share with you some of the great experiences we’ve had hand crafting these jingles through the years.

The Jingle: Surf Ballroom

The Story: Don McLean has been in the news recently. Don is an American singer and songwriter who wrote the classic song, American Pie in 1971.

The song is about the Day The Music Died on February 3, 1959 (My first Birthday.) Sadly, Buddy Holly, Richie Valens and J.P. “The Big Bopper” Richardson perished that day in a plane crash after performing at the Surf Ballroom in Mason City, Iowa.

I met the owners of the Surf Ballroom many years ago. Great guys, gave me a tour including Buddy Holly’s dressing room, backstage area, and the wall payphone Buddy used to call for a taxi to the Mason City Airport.

The Surf Ballroom looks like it did the Day The Music Died. It looks like a small 1950’s roller skating rink and you feel like you are back in time to the Golden Age Of Rock N’ Roll.

Best part, the Surf Ballroom bought a jingle from me that day.

Throw Back Thursday Bonus Jingle – March 15th 2018 – CSA Coin & Jewelry

Welcome to AmericanMusicConcepts.com: Throw Back Thursday’s Bonus Jingle – 03/15/2018

Each Thursday we will take a trip down memory lane and delve into our fantastic catalog of jingles to share with you some of the great experiences we’ve had hand crafting these jingles through the years.

The Jingle: CSA Coin & Jewelry

The Story: I was introduced to the owner of CSA Coin & Jewelry in New York State a few years back. He told me that everything about gold buying involves money. People sell their old valuables for money, gold buyers purchase these items to resell for money…
People even sell coins and paper money for more money! By the way, the client’s name was Bill. You can’t make this stuff up!

The jingle we created for Bill is one for the ages. Check it out below and you’ll be glad you did.

Funny side note: Bill had one competitor in town. His competitor had a pet parrot that loved Bill’s jingle. When people entered his store, a bell would go off and the parrot would start singing the jingle for Bill’s Store. Eventually, the parrot had to go!
