The Commercial and Residential Real Estate markets show signs that demand is building and values are starting to recover. Real Estate will come charging back … mostly likely sooner than later. Here’s a great idea that will help you crack the Real Estate Industry wide open for your stations.

First Time Home Buying Seminars are an excellent opportunity for you and your Real Estate prospects. Present the concept to the top Real Estate Brokers in your market and keep going until you get the major sponsorship sold. Next move on to sub-sponsors including Mortgage Companies, Law Firms, Home/Termite Inspectors, and Title Insurance Firms. Keep scheduling appointments and presenting the concept until you have one sub-sponsor sold in each of the key categories. Harvey Mackay says, “Act like a postage stamp … Stick to it until you get there.”

Schedule a series for four First Time Home Buying Seminars for the third Saturday in January, April, July, and October of 2009. It’s best to get the entire 2009 schedule SOLD OUT before the end of this year so you have long term 2009 commitments from the entire roster of sponsors.

Schedule two shows at 8:00 AM and 11:00 AM and hold the events at a local Holiday Inn. Offer two free tickets on your morning show and cross promote the events with a page on your Web Site. Trust me … your audience will ponce on these tickets and only “serious qualified buyers” would dare get up on a Saturday morning to attend these events.

When your listeners sign in, gather contact information and email addresses (the list can be shared with the sponsors as follow up leads after the show.) Let your PD be the MC and allow each of the sponsors 10 minutes to make presentations filled with tips for buying a first home. Leave time for Questions and Answers and don’t forget the goodie bags on the way out stuffed with station items and materials from the sponsors.

This promotion will generate lots of new dollars for you in 2009 … It’s a valuable community service and it will open the flood gates with several new business categories for your stations.
